This article is strictly for tournaments and how I will be looking to navigate large field or High Stakes tournaments. If you are looking for chalky picks, you are in the wrong place.
Attacking GPP with Paulie D
If you’ve been following you know that I do not love these large 15 game slates. Throw in Kershaw with no pivots, tons of plus offensive match up, the return of Bartolo Colon and you’ve got yourself a very difficult slate. I would strongly recommend reducing your buy-in on a day like this and live to fight another day. Personally, I will be playing some cash games today and using Patio Joe’s article for guidance. I will be throwing a single GPP bullet into the $65 3-entry max and the $9 Larry, Moe and Curly Squeeze on FanDuel. Below are the players I like today.
P – Clevinger, Peacock, Senzatela, Snell, Kershaw
C – Sanchez (SD), Romine, Suzuki
1B – Smoak, Reynolds, Victor Martinez, Cooper (value)
2B – Altuve, Lemahieu, Utley(value)
3B – Turner, Castellanos, Machado, Arenado, Dietrich(value)
SS – Valaika, Seager, Cozart, Russel(value)
OF – Blackmon, Parra, C. Taylor (Top Play on the Slate), Stanton, Clint Frazier (value), Cespedes, Bruce, Puig, Dickerson
Top Stacks – Rockies, Dodgers, Mets, Tigers
With so many great offensive spots and the elevated humidity across the country, I think the best approach in tournaments is to fade Kershaw so you can fit multiple expensive bats and try and mash your way to above 200 points today. I will be stacking the Rockies and looking for their offensive outburst to continue. I think the Yankees are a responsible fade today in regards to the big names, however if you want to stack the value bats at the bottom of the order to fit Kershaw I would be cool with that.
Good Luck
