This article is strictly for tournaments and how I will be looking to navigate large field or High Stakes tournaments. If you are looking for chalky picks, you are in the wrong place.
Attacking GPP with Paulie D
Since this is the last normal slate before the break, I decided to give you guys an article to help get a nice cash before the all-star break. I expect a lot of guys to take Sunday off and start the break early.
This article will cover the FD Very Early and Early as well as DK early. I don’t understand why fanduel didn’t do the whole early like DK, but it is what it is. I would recommend playing on DK in the early slate. We have two high end pitchers that will garner much of the ownership and I am completely off them. Especially Severino, I want no part of that and will be recommending bats against him. Strasburg I will not take bats against but do not think he is top 3 point per dollar and would not be shocked to see the Braves score a couple runs.
P – Mejia, Chacin, Nola, Porcello
C – Sanchez, Vogt
1B – Duda, Lomo,Thames, Lind
2B – Murphy, Villar, Miller
3B – Donaldson (Top Play on the Slate), Shaw, Rendon
SS – Didi, Asdrubal, Galvis
OF – Judge, Clint Frazier, Gardner, Braun, Santana, Souza, Granderson, Bruce, Conforto
Top Stacks – Yankees, Mets, Brewers, Nationals
I will be playing on DraftKings and will be looking to use as tight of a pool as possible. So my teams will consist only of Yankees, Brewers, and Mets. I really like this spot for Mejia. Baltimore struggles vs. lefties and after Machado’s big game yesterday I think this will be a popular stack. Don’t fall for this trap. Mejia has pitched very well recently and I doubt many have noticed. If you read the game logs nothing jumps out at you. If you look deeper though you will see he has faced 3 of the hardest teams to strike out in his last 4 starts. Against Baltimore he could go 6 with 2 earned or less and 8-10 K’s. This is a great leverage play against the field and it allows you to roster Sanchez and Judge with other attractive bats throughout your lineup. Mejia also has a slate low 86 mph exit velocity allowed in the last 30 days and 50% ground ball rate.
Good Luck
