Use the units to determine both a confidence meter and a rubric on how much to wager. It is a good idea to keep units a metric to help you manage your bankroll and understand how much you’re up or down. You determine what the value of each unit is but it is important to try you’re best to stay consistent with the value of the unit. Going up or down based off of your available bankroll is fine but stay as disciplined as you can, bankroll management is just as important if not more the actual handicapping of games.

Keep in mind that there is juice to pay to the books so if a line is -110 that would mean you would need to risk 1.1 units to win 1.

For example: If one unit = $100, you would need to risk $110 to win $100 on a -110 bet.

Current NBA Record: 21-10-2 (+19.3 Units)

My Notes:

NBA Best Bets

Minnesota Timberwolves +3 -120, *2.4 Units to win 2*

The Timberwolves have had two days off a blowing out the Grizzlies in Memphis. Tonight they will play the Clippers who are in the midst of a road trip. The Clippers have played well lately however they are a still a terrible defense and will have their hands full with KAT. Getting points for a rested home team seems like a decent bet so I’ll ride with the home dog.

New Orleans Pelicans +3 -120, *2.2 Units to win 2*

We may want to wait for the Elf news to see if the number moves to a more favorable line but the Pelicans are pretty well rested here only playing one game in their last five days. The Rockets made quick work of these guys but there is no James Harden on the Hawks. The Hawks have played well lately but they have been much better at home, lets back the Pelicans in what should be a bet against the public. UPDATE: Glad we waited, AD is doubtful and Elf is probably but I still like the rest situation the Pelicans are in and now we just get a better number.
