Here we go.
This article will focus on value plays that are good for GPP’s. These plays are on the lower end of the price range and should come in at very low to low ownership, some at 5% or under.
Few Notes-
*Roof is open at Chase Field. Good hitting environment and love the ARI bats today. Roof is greater than the humidor.
*Yesterday Stanton went yard twice. Today Judge goes yard.
Low owned stacks
Red Sox- Snell is a solid pitcher, but can be wild at times. Red Sox bats like Betts, Martinez, Boegarts will do well here. Also, JBJ, Benitendi, Devers are lefties who do well vs LHP and will be sneaky.
Angels– Trout should have higher ownership, but players like Cozart, Kinsler(hope he plays today) Justin Upton are all good plays vs a lefty. If Kinsler is out then mini stack with Cozart and Upton.
Pitcher
Jhoulys Chacin ($6400)
This is a great spot for Chacin tonight as he goes back to Petco Park to face his old team. He pitched extremely well in Petco last year with a 1.79 ERA, .172 BA against, 245 wOBA and only 8 HR’s in 100 IP’s. I can see him coming in at very low ownership and pitching 6-7 innings 2 ER’s, 6 K’s and the win.
C/1B
Marwin Gonzalez ($2800)
Hits well vs RHP- .397 wOBA and .230 ISO. Fister struggled a bit vs LHH’s .365 wOBA. Like his chances to go yard today on a good hitters park.
Justin Smoak- like his chances to go yard today.
2B
Jed Lowrie ($2500)
Like the A’s vs Skaggs tonight. Lowrie hits right in front of Davis and good opportunities for some runs. Nice stack with Semien, Davis and Piscotty.
Chris Owings- hoping he gets in he lineup today. If he hits in the 2-hole I will lock him in. Good pop and speed.
3B
Zach Cozart ($3000)
Back on him agian. Should lead off and hits very well vs LHP .440 wOBA, .296 ISO. Lile the Angels stack if Kinsler is in lineup. If not still like Cozart and Upton a lot.
Rafeal Devers- crushes LHP .456 wOBA.
SS
Marcus Semien ($2900)
Another A I like tonight. 41% HC vs LHP and Skaggs has a .344 wOBA vs RHH’s.
Nick Ahmed– crushes LHP .450 wOBA and .229 ISO.
OF
Justin Upton ($3600)
Most will go to Trout, but Upton is an elite hitter vs LHP and will have much lower ownership. .472 wOBA, .382 ISO and 44% HC. Double dong potential.
AJ Pollack- hits well vs LHP. Love ARI bats tonight. Roof open!
Aaron Altherr- hits well vs RHP .357 wOBA and .236 ISO. Most will go to Hoskins and Williams, who are good plays and so is Altherr.
Punt OF Play- Jake Marisnick: Here is my take on Marisnick. I play him at home vs RHP and on the road vs LHP. He crushes the ball at home when facing a RHP. Today, he faces a RHP on the road, which I normally would not play, but for 2k and facing Doug Fister he is in play. Could still get on base and steal a bag or two and score a few runs. Make sure he is in the lineup may sit. Josh Redick may start instead and if he does he is a great play.
