Hey WiseTake Family this is CK013 covering “Straight Cash Home” for Patio Joe. Patio Joe will return but don’t worry we will make sure the cash game articles are covered. Patio Joe has a Cash Game template he goes by and I happen to like it. I will be writing up the top cash plays at each position based off of his cash game preferred template.
Straight Cash Homie w/CK013
PITCHERS: Patio Joe generally pays up for the top pitcher on the slate, biggest favorite, etc. On this slate there really isn’t a top stud you must have.
- Masahiro Tanaka – He’s a big favorite and the Orioles have been really struggling offensively. I expect Tanaka to have a solid floor here assuming he can secure some strikeouts. The small park certainly leaves room for error but I think in cash games he’s your number one option.
- Josh Tomlin – He’s the biggest favorite on the board tonight but his upside is concerning. I think Tomlin is best served as an SP2 option as his strikeouts may be be as secure here.
- Jose Berrios – He’s here because we like him at WiseTake and he’s a big favorite against the Blue Jays at home but keep in mind the hitting conditions have been good there and the Jays struggle with sliders, but Berrios throws curveballs.
- Tanner Roark – Not a Roark fan in this spot, just don’t think floor are high enough against this Braves team. Roark is a big favorite so he should be somewhat popular which I think puts him in consideration but not an option I am a fan of.
CATCHER: Joe generally pays down at catcher. $2700 below is my mark. I will list the best play but please look at the value section for the catcher I like.
Gary Sanchez – Gary the Goat against a lefty at home.
Sal Perez – Good BvP against Tomlin.
J.T. Realmuto
FIRST BASE: Joe generally pays up for a first base. These days there are always high priced options in good spots. Most offensive production comes from first base and third base.
Anthony Rizzo – Seth Lugo, Cubs big favorites.
Edwin Encarnacion – Indians have been red hot, position is weak.
Justin Bour – Been hitting since returning from the DL, match-up in a small park against a righty.
Freddie Freeman – Always in play.
SECOND BASE: Joe generally pays down for a player that is batting at the top of the order that is $2600 or below but this is an 8 game slate with limited options.
Brian Dozier – Been very good against lefties.
Jose Altuve – Nolasco.
Jose Ramirez – Been red hot.
Robinson Cano – Has hit Cashner well in the past, one of the better hitting conditions of the night.
Kris Bryant – Lugo and then a bad bullpen.
Kyle Seager – Been hitting better lately and has hit Cashner in the past.
Eduardo Escobar – Been playing well.
Adrian Beltre – It’s over 90 degrees and he’s back, Felix limited to 50 pitches.
SHORT STOP: Joe generally pays down at SS.
Fransisco Lindor – Just too hot.
Trea Turner – Always in play against righties.
Jean Segura – History of getting on base, good hitting conditions and stolen base upside.
Jorge Polanco – Twins have been mashing lefties.
Carlos Correa – Nolasco.
Marwin Gonzalez – Cheaper and against Nolasco.
OUTFIELD- Joe will generally pay down at least 1 OF position $2500 or below, perhaps even two depending on the pitcher. He usually tries to pay up for one elite OF.
- Aaron Judge
- George Springer
- Byron Buxton
- Eddie Rosario
- Josh Reddick
- Cameron Maybin
- Kyle Schwarber
- Jay Bruce
- Matt Holiday
