NBA DFS Value Plays by FantasyBum
Hey WiseTake Nation!! 12 Game slate with a lot of value plays.
This article will focus on value plays and today they will be under 6k using FanDuel pricing. These are the players I think have the best chance of hitting and or exceeding value. Most of these plays will give you good value with upside in GPP’s. The plays are best used in addition to your favorite higher priced plays.
*Pricing and DvP are based off FanDuel, but can be used for most sites.
**Risk/Reward plays are best for GPP’s as a punt play. High upside at their price along with some risk.
Note: Hawks have ruled out 3 of their starters, so they have a limited roster. Nice value plays with more minutes to go around.
Point Guards
TJ McConnell ($5200)
I have been playing him for the last four games and he has done well in most of them. Price is up, but I am still on him due to his upside and good matchup tonight. Yes, the Heat are a good defensive team, but the one area you can attack them is at PG. They have allowed 54.5 FP’s over the past two weeks and this is the worst in the slate. I don’t expect a triple double or 50 FP’s, but I do expect a good game and 5-7x from him at this price.
Corey Joseph ($4300)
Good price for a starting PG vs the Nets who have allowed just shy of 50 FP’s over the last two weeks to opposing PG’s. Joseph has yet to show much as a starter (tough matchups as of late), but I think that changes tonight. Good matchup, pace up game and around 30 minutes. Value plus tonight.
*If Tomas Satoransky plays he has an excellent matchup (Knicks allow 50.4 FP’s over the past two weeks) and he has been playing very well. Has shown 40 FP upside.
Austin Rivers is a viable option as well. Plays 30+ minutes and the Celtics struggle a bit vs PG’s and SG’s recently.
Risk/Reward Play – Tyler Dorsey and Malcolm Delaney are both good plays today as the Hawks will be without Schroder and Bazemore. I prefer Dorsey, but think Delaney has the lower ownership.
Shooting Guards
Avery Bradley ($4100)
Going with the revenge narrative here as Bradley goes back to Boston against his former team. He will step up his game. Price is down and he is too cheap for his upside in this game. He should come in at under 5% ownership on this large slate, so great GPP play.
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope ($5500)
KCP usually plays over 30 minutes a game and has played well as of late. He gets a good matchup, fastest paced game with the highest total on the board. All pluses for KCP as he should get a lot of opportunities scoring and defensively.
Justin Holiday ($5200)
Solid minutes and floor.
Small Forwards
Jonathon Simmons ($5800)
Simmons has a nice usage bump with Elf gone and Gordon and Vucevic off the court. This is a good spot for him as I like to target the Hornets with opposing SF’s. Most will go to Hezonja after his big game, but I like Simmons better tonight.
Royce O’Neale ($4300)
The Jazz will be without Rubio again, so O’Neale should get another start. Excellent matchup and pace up game. He also dropped 29 FP’s in the Suns earlier this month. Bounce back game.
Jason Tatum ($5400)
Nice spot vs the Clippers who lack defensively. 32 FP’s last time they met.
Taureen Prince ($4000)
Prince should see a bump in usage and minutes. Good matchup and could easily hit 6x.
Risk/Reward Play – CJ Miles gets a very good matchup. May see some extra minutes tonight on back to back. Can put up points fast.
Power Forwards
Ed Davis ($3800)
Davis could see extended minutes tonight if Nurkic can’t go (left last game and has several injuries). Playing well lately and getting close to 20 minutes a game. Pace up game with a lot of rebounding opportunities and this is where Davis excels. Nice play, and if Nurkic sits, he becomes an elite play at this price.
Dragan Bender ($4000)
Bender has played 30 or more minutes in the last four games. He played well vs the Jazz earlier this month. Price is down, so upside is in play. Chandler has been ruled out. This solidifies Bender’s minutes and puts Marquese Chriss (price way down) in play as well.
James Johnson ($4300)
Has put up back to back 20 plus FP games. Like this matchup for him tonight.
Centers
Mike Muscala ($3500)
The Hawks have ruled out three starters. This opens up more minutes for player like Muscala, who was already playing between 12-20 minutes. Possibility he starts at PF against the Pistons who have allowed the 5th most FP’s to opposing PF’s over the past two weeks. Dewayne Dedmon is also in play.
Brook Lopez ($5600)
Lopez has seen solid minutes recently and has played well with them. Nice match up along with a fast paced game and high point total.
Risk/Reward Play – Alex Len should see close to 20 minutes with Chandler sitting out.
*Good Luck and Stay Cashing
