NBA DFS Value Plays by FantasyBum
Hey WiseTake Nation. 6 game slate tonight. The slate does not have a lot of higher priced players, so you may not need to pay down too much tonight.
This article will focus on value plays and today they will be under 6k using FanDuel pricing. These are the players I think have the best chance of hitting and/or exceeding value. Most of these plays will give you good value with upside to help in GPP’s. The plays are best used in addition to your favorite higher priced plays.
*Pricing and DvP are based off FanDuel, but can be used for most sites.
**Risk/Reward plays are best for GPP’s as a punt play. High upside at their price along with some risk.
Point Guards
Dejounte Murray ($5500)
This kid is fun to watch and I have been using him in GPP’s all year. He is an aggressive player, especially on the boards. Excellent matchup and pace up game. Should still get run in a blowout. I think he could put up 20 FP’s by the half.
Jeff Teague ($5800)
This is a good spot for the Timberwolves as the face the Cavs who have been one of the worst defensive teams as of late. Slate high of 52.3 FP’s (the last two weeks) to opposing PG’s. Also, the Timberwolves starters usually play 30 plus minutes.
Risk/Reward Play – Tyler Johnson’s price is down and he seems to be playing his normal minutes now. Pace up spot and a good matchup. The Heat may be down some bodies tonight, so he may need to play extended minutes as well. Has a chance for 6-7x. If Wayne Ellington sits out he becomes an even better option.
Shooting Guards
Danny Green ($4800)
Green has played very well as of late averaging 1.03 FPPM over the last six games. He gets an elite matchup as the Suns allow the 2nd most FP’s on the slate and run at one of the fastest paces. Good spot for Green to hit value plus. Also, he usually has low ownership.
I am not much of a fan for any other value plays at SG under 6k, but right over the mark Andrew Wiggins has an excellent matchup.
Risk/Reward Play – Nik Stauskus could see more minutes with LaVert out again. 20+ upside. Jamal Crawford gets an excellent matchup and could hit value plus.
Small Forwards
DeMarre Carroll ($5100) & Joe Harris ($3800)
The place to target the Pistons is at SF as they allow 43.5 FP’s over the past two weeks, which is 2nd worst on the slate. Harris started at SF last game and may do so tonight again. He played 28 minutes and put up 21.6 FP’s. Carroll is a bit more, but has also been more consistent as of late. I like both of these guys to hit value tonight with chance of upside. I think they both do well tonight, but prefer Harris at the lower price.
Lance Stephenson ($5600) & Bojan Bogdonavic ($5800)
These guys both have an elite matchup against the Pelicans who also run at a faster pace. Bogdonavic starts and Stephenson should come off the bench, but should play additional minutes with Collison still out. I think they are both in play, but prefer Stephenson running on the second unit with higher usage. Think he has a higher upside tonight.
Josh Jackson is in play. High usage and continues to put up 6x or more each night.
Power Forwards
Jeff Green ($3700)
Green is just above min price and has seen 20+ minutes in three straight games now. This is most likely due to the absence of Kevin Love. The place to target the Timberwolves is at the PF as they allow 48.6 FP’s over the past two weeks., which is 2nd worst on the slate. Green has not shown much upside as of late, but I think he has a good game and puts up close to 25 FP’s tonight.
Thaddeus Young ($5900)
Young plays consistent minutes and he usually runs into the low to mid 30’s. He has shown a fairly safe floor lately with upside around 40 FP’s. This is a good spot for him as the Pacers play the Pelicans who run fast and lack defensively. The ownership should come in on the lower end with a safe floor and 6x upside tonight.
If Kelly Olynyk sits out James Johnson becomes an excellent play.
Risk/Reward Play – Gorgui Dieng’s playing the Cavs and could hit Value in limited minutes. He has flashed 30 FP upside.
Dragan Bender should see 30+ minutes again tonight and has a good chance to crush value. Nice punt play and good chance to hit value plus with his 30+ minutes.
Centers
Bam Adebayo ($4200)
The latest news lists Kelly Olynyk as doubtful and this is good news for Bam as he should see an increase in minutes. I actually hope he comes off the bench as he will have a higher usage and put up a better box score. Pace up game with a solid matchup. He has shown 40 FP upside with close to 30 minutes. Also, a few other Heat are listed on the injury report, which could solidify his minutes.
Jahil Okafor ($3700)
Okafor should continue to see minutes now with Zeller gone and RHJ sitting out due to injury. Also, Acy sat out yesterday and is listed as questionable for tonight. Hit value in three of last six games and was just shy in the other three.
Risk/Reward Play
Alex Len – This is a play to watch on a back-to-back where Tyson Chandler may sit out. Len becomes an excellent play if so. He can put up FP’s quick when he is in the court and may only need 20 or so minutes to hit value. Only in play at this price if Chandler sits out.
