NBA DFS Value Plays by FantasyBum
Hey WiseTake Nation!! I am back from vacation and ready to roll. 10 game slate with a lot of value and good plays. The Grizzlies will be short again and the Magic also have a few of their top players out as well. Both of these teams bring very good value to the table. Anthony Davis is listed as doubtful, which puts most of the Pelican players in play.
This article will focus on value plays and today they will be under 6k (in most cases) using FanDuel pricing. These are the players I think have the best chance of hitting and or exceeding value. Most of these plays will give you good value with upside in GPP’s. The plays are best used in addition to your favorite higher priced plays.
*Pricing and DvP are based off FanDuel, but can be used for most sites.
Point Guards
Xavier Rathan-Mayes ($4000)
The Grizzlies are without all three PG’s and should turn to Rathan-Mayes again for solid minutes. In his first two games he played 25 and 27 minutes and delivered over 20 FP’s in both games.
Shelvin Mack ($3700)
The Magic will be without Evan Fournier, Aaron Gordon and possibly DJ Augastin (Like Mack even if he plays). This opens up more minutes and usage for Mack. He is cheap enough and has shown 40 FP upside. Nice matchup against a poor defensive team.
Frank Mason ($3900)
Mason has played 20 plus minutes and delivered 24.5 or more FP’s in two of this last three games. Fox is listed as a GTD and if he sits Mason could see close to 30 minutes and crush value in this pace up game and matchup. He is in play for GPP even if Fox ends up playing as he has shown 35 FP upside as of late.
Risk/Reward Play – Fred VanFleet fast paced game and VanFleet should do very well. Would need 23.5 FP’s to hit value and I think he comes close to 30 in this matchup.
Shooting Guards
Ben McLemore ($4800) & Kobi Simmons ($4600)
Grizzlies are down players and are short at the guard positions. Both of these players have done well as of late. McLemore has played 30 or more minutes and put up 30 or more FP’s in this last three games. Simmons has played 25 or more minutes and put up 25 or more FP’s in his last two games.
Jordan Clarkson ($4200)
Excellent matchup and should have no problem hitting value with potential for upside.
Nick Young ($3500)
Most will look towards whoever stats for the Warriors, but I think Young gets some extra run with Curry out. He can score quick and should have no problem hitting value in this matchup. One of my favorite GPP plays at SG.
Garrett Temple is in play now that Fox has been ruled out. 40 and 25 FP game vs Magic in last two.
Risk/Reward Play – Devin Harris is risky due to his minutes, but can hit value with 15-20 minutes in this matchup and fast paced game. Jamal Murray is considered a GTD right now and if he sits, Harris could see more minutes, which increases his upside.
Small Forwards
James Ennis ($4700)
Ennis will be a sneaky play today as most will go towards Hezonja and Simmons or pay up for James or Durant. He has played 36, 28, 30 and 32 minutes in his last four games and hit value in two of them. Stanley Johnson is doubtful and if he sits Ennis should see similar minutes. The matchup is excellent as the Bulls have allowed the 7th most FP’s to opposing SF’s.
Jonothan Simmons ($4500) & Mario Hezonja ($4300)
These guys are both in good spots as the Magic are down a few players. Simmons usage goes way up with Gordon and Fournier off the court and I think he will be the contrarian play of the two. Great matchup for both of these guys. Prefer Simmons, but both are great plays.
Risk/Reward Play – Mo Harkless is listed as probably and will be needed for his defense tonight. Has shown over 30 FP upside.
Power Forwards
Ed Davis ($4300)
Love this matchup for Davis. He should do very well. Hit value in five straight games.
Zach Randolph ($5900)
Excellent matchup and should play with tonight.
Pascal Siakam ($4400)
Pace up game and has played very well. Should come in at very low ownership.
Risk/Reward Play – Mike Scott has played 20 or more minutes in his last two games. Excellent matchup and fast paced game. Could see additional minutes if Porter is out.
Centers
Jusif Nurkic ($6000)
Pace up game, which means more opportunities for Nurkic who can score and grab boards at a fast pace. Put up 40 FP last time he played the Warriors. One of my favorite GPP plays at C due to his upside.
Emeka Okafor ($3800)
Davis is doubtful and Okafor should see extended minutes. Nice value at near minimum price.
Kosta Koufas ($4600)
Cauley-Stein has been ruled out. Excellent matchup as the Magic have allowed 54 FP’s over the past two weeks.
*Good Luck and Stay Cashing
