Bermuda grass overseeded with bentgrass and rye
The fairways are average in size with very light ruff around them. 2 inches or less. They try to duplicate this course as much as they can to be like Augusta National. Even cutting the grass towards the tee boxes to make them faster. The fairways and greens will be very fast here. But there is rain in the forecast for Wednesday and Thursday that would significantly slow them down. The fairways however are surrounded by bunkers and a lot of water. 10 holes have water along them. This is a bombers course and will be even more so if there is a lot of rain right before they tee off. They help this with the very light ruff just have to be careful of the water and bunkers. The greens are Bermuda but the overseeding has pretty much taken over making them play like bentgrass. This could be an advantage if guys are looking for good putters on Bermuda. The greens are large here with very little slope. But there are different levels with runoff areas on these large greens. And they are very firm and fast. Which the rain would you impact the firmness slowing down approach shots but still should be fast putting. And there is also wind in the forcast. And it’s Texas so the wind can change at the drop of a hat and become even stronger. Picked my out guys good in wind I think will be something I’m looking for this week. 4 of these Par 4’s are over 450 yards which is something else I’m looking for this week. Guys good on long par 4’s.
