Good afternoon to all the WiseTake members. I hope everyone’s Early slate is killing it today. Tonight, we get a nice 7-game slate, personally I love these size slates. Considering the pitchers tonight there are only a few that have been Hot or Not.
Pitchers, Hot or Not by Cuse
Hot Pitchers
Zack Greinke ($11,700-DK/$10,200-FD) – Grienke is one of the few pitchers in tonight’s slate that comes in with a long hot streak. In Grienke’s last 2 games he is averaging (7 IP, 3.5 hits, 1 run, and 7.5 K’s) both of those being home starts. Grienkes splits on the road have been a little worse away from Chase Field but he is facing a Reds team that he has pitched well against. This could be a great pivot off DeGrom for tonight’s slate in tournaments.
Gerrit Cole ($8,500-DK/$8,900-FD) – Cole other then one of his last five starts against the SF Giants has been pitching very well. In those 4 starts that Cole has pitched well he is averaging (21-DK/39-FD) points per game. Tonight, Cole will face a Brewers team that he has pitched well against, the Brewers are 6 for 54 with a .111 AVG in a small sample size. Also, Cole ranks up in the top 20% in the past month or so in EV so it just goes to show teams are not hitting him hard right now.
Cold Pitchers
Mike Leake ($6,600-DK/$7,600-FD) – Leake is a pitcher I would target tonight even after the performance the Mets put up offensively last night. In Leakes past 2 games he’s got shelled and only averaged (3-DK/13-FD) points. Statcast data shows Leake among the top 25% of barreled balls against so teams are squaring up against him despite not hitting it far.
Kevin Gausman ($6,100-DK/$7,100-FD) – On the Podcast last night I had some interest in Gausman but after digging deep into the data and looking at his recent performances I retract that statement. Gausman will face a Texas team that hasn’t been clicking offensively but this is the perfect spot for them to get back on track. Gausman ranks among the worst in every Statcast stat in the past few weeks and I expect the Rangers to hit him hard tonight.
