Welcome back to another installment of Hot or Not. Tonight’s slate is a smaller one at only 5 games so instead of the normal 3 pitchers I’ll only be giving 2 of each.
Pitchers, Hot or Not (Main) by SYRACUSEEEE
Hot Pitchers
Corey Kluber ($12,600-DK/$12,00-FD) – Kluber comes into tonight as one of the hottest pitchers in baseball. In his last 3 starts he’s averaged (8 innings, 3 Hits, 0.3 Runs, 12 K’s), which is just flat out phenomenal for a pitcher. Kluber will match up against a Padres team that has a high strikeout % so expect his hot trend to continue tonight.
Clayton Kershaw ($12,900-DK/$12,400-FD) – It finally seems that Kershaw has bounced back from his calf injury a month or so ago by looking at his game log. His swinging strike % is back up along with lowering his hard contact over the last few starts. I expect nothing less of another quality performance from Kershaw tonight as he faces a strikeout heavy Arizona team that has struggled vs Kershaw.
Cold Pitchers
Kyle Freeland ($6,000-DK/$6,000-FD) – Freeland has had minimal fantasy value in his last 5 starts. One of the downsides to Freeland is he doesn’t strike many people out. He has been giving up more runs than getting strikeouts and that’s something you want to avoid for pitchers. Tonight, he faces a good Cincinnati Reds team at Coors which is a recipe for disaster because the Reds don’t strikeout much as it is. Stay away from Freeland tonight as his cold streak should continue.
Homer Bailey ($4,000-DK/$5,000-FD) – Bailey comes into tonight with this being only his 3rd start of the year. In his previous 2 outings combined he has pitched 4.2 innings and given up 14 runs. Just when you think it couldn’t get any worse for Homer he gets to pitch at to Coors field. A perfect pitcher to target against for tonight.
