Hope everyone’s having a great Thursday as we get a small 5-game slate for tonight. Only having 5 games I’ll only be giving out a few quick Hot or Nots for tonight. Now let’s take a look at who is Hot or Not.
Pitchers, Hot or Not w/ Cuse
Hot Pitchers
Luis Severino ($11,000-DK/$9,400-FD) – Severino has pitched great in his last few performances averaging (23-DK/43-FD) points against MIL and Bos. Tonight, Severino will get a Seattle team that’s been hit or miss this year. Seattle has hit RHP very well this season but Severino should be have the ability to get the strikeout upside without giving up a ton of runs. One thing to note is they are playing tonight in Seattle which should help Severino drastically (Pitchers Ballpark).
Cole Hamels ($9,400-DK/$9,000-FD) – For the past 2-3 weeks I’ve been talking Hamel up and playing him consistently. I can say it has paid off great dividends as Hamels points have been much higher than before he got hurt earlier in the season. Looking deep into Hamels analytics he ranks among the worst in most categories but is still getting the results. Tonight, Hamels will get the Orioles who before this week were getting torched by DFS pitchers. I love Hamels tonight and think his strikeout upside alone will get him back here next week.
Cold Pitchers
Brandon McCarthy ($6,600-DK/$7,300-FD) – McCarthy has just been flat out bad lately as I mentioned last week in this section. As Patio Joe mentioned last night on the Podcast there’s only two Dodger pitchers right now worth rostering and McCarthy isn’t one of them. McCarthy’s inability to go deep into the game and get strikeouts is one of the reasons he will remain on this list next week.
Wade Miley ($5,900-DK/$6,600-FD) – Mr. Miley was a pitcher earlier in the year that won me a lot of money but he has regressed as expected and hasn’t done consistently well in a while. Tonight Miley will get a TEX team that’s been struggling but it’s the perfect time for them to blow up because they’ve been burned by DFS players the past few days. Miley ranks at the top of MLB pitchers with Barreled balls given up so look to have some TEX exposure tonight.
