Previously known as the GPP Pitching Prospectus, this article will now cover pitchers for both cash games and GPPs. I spend a majority of my day researching pitchers so I figured in addition to my thoughts on GPP flyers, why not list the guys I like in cash as well.

To be clear I typically don’t make my final choices until moments before the games start. This is because I am always checking the WiseTake Pitching model to see what opposing line-up numbers look like. I do however have a short list of pitchers that I am interested in for the day and will be sharing that with you.

Slate Notes: A lot of bad weather spots will make things interesting tonight.

Cash Games

Higher Cost Options –

  1. Chris Sale – Clearly the guy in cash games on both sites, he will be crazy high-owned and on FanDuel he actually really cheap. He hasn’t been as dominant of late but everyone will still roll with him so even if he busts he shouldn’t hurt you in cash.
  2. Jake Arrieta – A more risky cash option but still a big favorite and a good pitcher. He hasn’t been elite this year though he hasn’t been bad either. If you don’t want to play Sale in cash for some strange reason, I guess you could look here.
  3. Ervin Santana – I have trust issues with this dude but he has had a solid year. He faired well against the White Sox the last time he went up against them but it can be tough for a pitcher to see the same team twice in a row. He provides salary relief of course but he does carry some risk so be careful if your thinking about playing him in cash.

Cheaper  Options –

  1. Luke Weaver – SP2 cash option on DraftKings if you’re looking to pay down a bit. He faired well against the Brewers the last time he saw them and while I don’t know if he will repeat that exact performance, I do think he will be popular enough on DK cash games to provide some safety.

GPP

Higher Cost Options –

  1. Ervin Santana – I said in the cash section Santana carries more risk than the other options but he’s still very much in play especially in GPPs. The White Sox have seemed to strikeout a little less over the last 30 days however they are still over 23%. The game total here has also dropped quiet a bit which bodes well for the pitchers.
  2. Jake Arrieta – Pretty consistent of late for GPPs. In play Pirates have tendency of giving up complete games from time to time.

Cheaper Options –

  1. Zack Godley – Dodgers haven’t been the same without Bellinger and Godley is a ground-ball pitcher with some decent K-upside, very risky here but in play for GPPs. Very cheap on DK.
