Hey WiseTake Family this is CK013 covering “Straight Cash Home” for Patio Joe. Patio Joe will return but don’t worry we will make sure the cash game articles are covered. Patio Joe has a Cash Game template he goes by and I happen to like it. I will be writing up the top cash plays at each position based off of his cash game preferred template.

Straight Cash Homie w/CK013

NOTES: This is for the main slate.

13 GAME SLATE.  I’m here to break it down your best cash options and make the decision making process a little easier.

WEATHER:  Some delay potential in Atlanta but nothing crazy. Hitters seem completely fine, keep updated if your using any pitching from that game.

PITCHERS: Patio Joe generally pays up for the top pitcher on the slate, biggest favorite, etc. On this slate there really isn’t a top stud you must have.

Max Scherzer– Scherzer is always a cash game lock especially because in the rare occasion be busts most likely he will 80% or higher in cash so it won’t hurt you. A swinging strike rate about 17% is more than respectable and while I respect this Reds team offensively (especially in this park) he should get his K’s in.

Corey Kluber- Obviously Kluber draws a good match-up against the Athletics on Oakland. I do have some concerns with his -7.4% road xOBA differential (means his overall road xOBA is 7.4% worse than his home xOBA). Still its Kluber and its the As. Kluber will also give you a slight price break to help you with your bats.

Felix Hernandez – King Felix has been a shell of himself over the last year or so but the White Sox offense is flat out bad. King Felix is still a capable guy and not someone who I will ignore at his price on both sites.

CATCHER: Joe generally pays down at catcher. $2700 below is my mark. I will list the best play but please look at the value section for the catcher I like.

Kurt Suzuki- Ideally he’d be a little cheaper but he has hit lefties pretty well this year with a .388 xOBA.

Chris Herrmann – I wish he was hitting higher in the order but I’ll take the lefty against Folty in the house built for Freddie Freeman. He is super cheap on both sites today.

FIRST BASE: Joe generally pays up for a first base.  These days there are always high priced options in good spots.  Most offensive production comes from first base and third base.

Logan Morrison- It’s a big park but this dude has big power. JC Ramirez is holding a .382 xOBA to lefties now compare that to Morrison’s .405 to righties.

Cody Bellinger- He has great xOBA numbers against righties and Urena has a .348 xOBA to lefties. Not a fan of the park but a big fan of “the Kid” as Patio Joe calls him.

Luke Voit- There are a lot of pitchers to pay up for in cash so you may decide to go cheaper at 1B. If you do want to, this kid has been hot as of late, he’s especially a bargain on DraftKings.

SECOND BASE: Joe generally pays down for a player that is batting at the top of the order that is $2600 or below but this is an 8 game slate with limited options.

Asdrubal Cabrera- The Mets put up a ton of runs on Gray last night and they get Chatwood tonight. Asdrubal has hit righties well this season and he is batting second. It would be nice if he was cheaper but even cash game porn is no longer dirt cheap.

Brandon Phillips- This guy has had a rough year for sure but he bats higher in the order and he is super cheap on FanDuel.

THIRD BASE: Joe generally pays up for a top play at third base (along with first base). The most production comes from third base.NOTE: If we see someone cheaper batting at the top of the order, consider them for sure. We are willing to punt here if there are cheap guys at the top of the order.

Jake Lamb- Lefty of his caliber in the park built for Freddie, plus Folty struggles against lefties.

Kris Bryant- The Cubs offense finally had some pop last night so it maybe a good time to go back to them especially in this park. He draws a match-up against Miley who strikes fear into no-one.

Justin Turner– Hits righties well and Urena’s xOBA is not impressive. He won’t be popular so keep that in mind when setting your cash game line-ups.

Kyle Seager– Pelfrey is bad so you if you want to pay down Seager is still priced severely low for his upside. Keep in mind he has been struggling this season.

SHORT STOP: Joe generally pays down at SS but this slate is fugly.

Corey Seager– If you want to pay up this dude has power and against Urena struggles against lefties.

Stephen Drew– Super cheap and batting 2nd. I don’t like picking on Castillo but with how bad this position is a full on punt isn’t a bad idea in this ball park.

Addison Russell– Good price, good park and good match-up against Miley.

OUTFIELD- I generally will pay down at least 1 OF position $2500 or below, perhaps even two depending on the pitcher.  I try and pay up for one elite OF.

  1. David Peralta
  2. Ian Happ
  3. Michael Conforto
  4. Matt Kemp
  5. Yoenis Cespedes
  6. Raimel Tapia
  7. Nelson Cruz
