Hey WiseTake Family this is CK013 covering “Straight Cash Home” for Patio Joe. Patio Joe will return but don’t worry we will make sure the cash game articles are covered. Patio Joe has a Cash Game template he goes by and I happen to like it. I will be writing up the top cash plays at each position based off of his cash game preferred template.

Straight Cash Homie w/CK013

10 GAME SLATE.  I’m here to break it down your best cash options and make the decision making process a little easier.

PITCHERS: Patio Joe generally pays up for the top pitcher on the slate, biggest favorite, etc. On this slate there really isn’t a top stud you must have.

Corey Kluber – Kluber is having an awesome year and in July he has had only one start in which he scored under 50 FanDuel points. His price is pretty obstructive but his floor and ceiling are really that high. The White Sox offense has been inconsistent this year to put it nicely and the K-upside is certainly there against a top right-handed pitcher.

Ivan Nova – Ivan Nova doesn’t get many K’s through swinging strikes so we are looking for a pitcher’s ump but he is a ground-ball pitcher who typically has a decent floor in a match-up against the Padres, of course they are also playing another pitchers park.

Trevor Cahill – It’s unusual for an underdog this big to be in the cash section against a team that “doesn’t strike-out” but as a team the Red Sox have maintained a K% above 20% over the last 30 days. Cahill has been great this year and his GB% looks good. His price is super attractive especially on DK considering the upside on FanDuel.

CATCHER: Joe generally pays down at catcher. $2700 below is my mark. I will list the best play but please look at the value section for the catcher I like.

Willson Contreras – He will be tough to play in cash if your playing Kluber but this looks like a pretty good spot for him. He profiles well against Guerra and of course the small park.

Wellington Castillo – It would be nice if he was batting higher in the order but he has a great match-up against Dirkx in a hitter friendly environment, plus he is on the road so we will get a full game from his team.

Devin Mesoraco – He’s really cheap on FanDuel and Conley is nothing to be afraid of. Mesoraco has power and even in a bigger park like Miami I’d be willing to punt to him if I had to.

FIRST BASE: Joe generally pays up for a first base.  These days there are always high priced options in good spots.  Most offensive production comes from first base and third base.

Anthony Rizzo – He is expensive but he profiles well, has the platoon advantage and is playing in smaller park.

Edwin Encarnacion – He has been playing well and gets a park boost in Chicago. He has a match-up against Miguel Gonzalez and E5 mashes right-handed pitching.

Chris Davis – Davis doesn’t often make the cash game list due to his tendency to strike-out but it will be hot in Texas again and Austin Bibens-Dirkx doesn’t strikeout many. Davis has great power in a great hitting environment.

Matt Adams – If your playing Kluber would rather pay down on FanDuel, Adams is cheap and has big power against the righty in a small park.

SECOND BASE: Joe generally pays down for a player that is batting at the top of the order that is $2600 or below but this is an 8 game slate with limited options.

Rougned Odor – The position is pretty weak unless you’re paying up and Odor is 4-for-11 against Gausman with great hitting conditions.

Jed Lowrie – Cash game porn, got to represent for Patio Joe. Should be hitting in the middle of the order and he’s at a great price on FnaDuel.

Eric Sogard – If he plays he should lead-off and he has the platoon. At his FD price I think he is a solid punt.

Carlos Asuaje – Obviously this one is reserved for those not playing Nova as an SP2 but he’s cheap and should bat at the top of the order.

THIRD BASE: Joe generally pays up for a top play at third base (along with first base). The most production comes from third base.NOTE: If we see someone cheaper batting at the top of the order, consider them for sure. We are willing to punt here if there are cheap guys at the top of the order.

Travis Shaw – He has been red hot and he’s at home in a small park.

Freddie Freeman – He’s 6-for-16 with two dongs against Eickhoff.

Kris Bryant – Big power, small park.

Manny Machado – Great hitting environment, solid match-up against Dirkx and of course a bad bullpen behind him.

SHORT STOP: Joe generally pays down at SS.

Francisco Lindor – He’s a good hitter and he’s the top option at SS price wise, position is very ugly.

Elvis Andrus – Having a great year and he is 5-for-15 against Gausman.

Marcus Semien – He has been playing well and he has a match-up against a lefty. Should be batting high in the order, wish he was cheaper but SS is especially bad tonight.

Wilmer Difo – Batting second and on FanDuel he is $2,700. He isn’t a great hitter and I wish his price was cheaper but options for paying down are extremely limited tonight.

Eduardo Escobar – He has been playing well and we aren’t afraid of Smith.

OUTFIELD- Joe will generally pay down at least 1 OF position $2500 or below, perhaps even two depending on the pitcher.  I try and pay up for one elite OF.
