Hyun Gyu Lim (13-6-1) $7800 vs Daichi Abe (5-0-0) $8400
Daichi Abe-Striker making his UFC debut his last fight was a knockout win over former WEC standout Hiromitsu Miura. Abe faces Korean striker Hyun Gyu Lim, and, between the two of them, they share 15 knockout wins, so I doubt this fight will disappoint. It’s too hard to gauge his value in the UFC at this point
Hyun Gyu Lim- Striker 3-3 in the UFC the South Korean is known for his wild, do-or-die style of fighting that produced big-time knockouts and exciting contests in his six UFC fights.
FXX Prelims
Shinsho Anzai (9-2-0) $7300 vs Luke Jumeau (12-3-0) $8900
Luke Jumeau-Striker/BJJ 1-0 in the UFC solid striker likes to hold his hands low, sit back, and let his opponent push forward where he can land counter strikes
Shinsho Anzai-Striker/Grappler He stands in the pocket ready to unload with both fists, like most Japanese fighters they like to stand and bang aggressive throwing big power shots and working hard kicks.
Syuri Kondo (5-0-0) $8000 vs Chan Mi Jeon (5-1-0) $8100
Syuri Kondo-Striker/Pro Wrestler/Kick boxer Making her UFC debut She recently won the Pancrase strawweight title and is currently 5-0 and yes that’s not a typo Kondo is a pro wrestler. Compiled a 13-1 record kick boxing record.
Chan Mi Jeon-Muay Thai/BJJ 0-1 in the UFC. Tall aggressive fighter with a solid punching power high volume striker averages 6 strikes per minute.
Jussier Formiga (19-5-0) $9200 vs Ulka Sasaki (20-4-2) $7000
Jussier Formiga-BJJ 5-4 in the UFC. well-rounded veteran who can do everything at this point in his long and productive career. low-output striker who does his best work with a counter right hand as his opponent comes in, and Formiga has enough pop to make his opponent think about it.
Ulka Sasaki- The clinch and wrestling exchanges are where Formiga does his most important work. He’s strong in the tie-ups and has a nice arsenal of trips and throws, but what makes him dangerous is his ability to spin around to the back and hit a standing back-take.
Sasaki is mostly known to grapple and Formiga has a takedown advantage. Sasaki is 1-1 since moving to the flyweight division, submitting Willie Gates before dropping a decision to eventual title challenger Wilson Reis in his last outing
Main Card
Keita Nakamura (32-8-2) $8800 vs Alex Morono (13-4-0) $7400
Keita Nakamura- Judo/Jiu-Jitsu striker has a hard-left hook that he will look to throw often. nakamura tends to take allot of damage before making the proper adjustments.
Alex Morono-Jiu-Jitsu/Striker aggressive brawler who wings haymakers with little technique push the action progress in his striking stringing together functional punching combinations.
Mizuto Hirota (19-8-2) $7400 vs Charles Rosa (11-3-0) $8800
Mizuto Hirota-Brawler 1-5-1 in the UFC. Hirota is a former Sengoku, Deep and GCM champion with 18 wins and 10 knockouts in his pro career. Hirota is a typical Japanese brawler; he will move forward while throwing power punches. He throws solid combinations which helps him set up takedowns. He’s got good top control on the ground and will drop bombs in his ground and pound to get the knockout.
Charles Rosa-Striker/Grappler 2-3 in the UFC. The three-time winner of the “Fight of the Night” award has been in battles with Yair Rodriguez, Dennis Siver, and Shane Burgos. He uses his striking primarily to put his opponents off kilter, at which point he can more easily secure a takedown and work for submissions.
Teruto Ishihara (10-4-2) $8700 vs Rolondo Dy (8-5-1) $7500
Teruto Ishihara-Striker 2-2-1 in the UFC. Ishihara leaves absolutely nothing in the tank, winging kicks with reckless abandon. It highlights his explosiveness and athleticism exceedingly well, but also shows how much he must learn as his technique comes and goes. Has solid power and an effective counter puncher.
Rolondo Dy- the 8-4 Filipino can submit fighters, but his boxing is certainly his best quality. He will want to use his powerful hands to try and knock out Ishihara
Gokhan Saki (0-1-0) $8600 vs Henrique da Silva (12-3-0) $7600
Gokhan Saki-Kickboxer making his UFC debut. Saki has been one of the top light heavyweights in kickboxing for about a decade. Saki has competed all over the world against some of the top-level competition. His ferocious power and flashy striking gives him an advantage over most of his opponents. His grappling and wrestling will be a question mark heading into his debut. However, he’s been training for this fight with top light heavyweights Alexander Gustafsson and Ilir Latifi.
Henrique da Silva-Muay Thai/BJJ 2-3 in the UFC. Da Silva is a striker first and foremost, but he does have a grappling background. Da Silva is effective off his back, so even if he needs to pull a desperate move like pulling guard in the clinch, he could find success with a sweep and get on top of Saki.
Takanori Gomi (35-13-0) $7100 vs Dong Hyun Kim(14-8-3) $9100
Takanori Gomi-Striker/Grappler 4-8 in the UFC. Gomi is a Legend having fought some of the biggest names in MMA throughout his career. Even though he is older the fireball could might want to go out with a bang. Gomi will come out firing early and often and my thoughts want to put on a show in his home country on the big stage.
Dong Hyun Kim-Striker/Grappler 1-2 in the UFC. Kim is a massive welterweight with good takedowns below average takedown defense. Kim has worked on his striking which may be a key factor in this fight.
Claudia Gadelha (15-2-0) $9000 vs Jessica Andrade (16-6-0) $7200
Claudia Gadelha-Striker/Grappler 4-2 in the UFC. Gadelha has been training in Albuquerque for this fight, so it will be interesting to see the improvements her new coaches can add to an already dangerous striker and grappler.
Jessica Andrade-Striker/Grappler 7-4 in the UFC. Andrade is tough as nails and her only loss since dropping down to straw weight was to the current champ.
Ovince St. Preux (20-10-0) $9500 vs Yushin Okami (32-8-0) $7200
Ovince St. Preux-Striker/Grappler 8-5 in the UFC. Saint Preux will carry a size advantage into the Octagon, but the biggest advantage for him on fight night will be his reach. St. Preux will need to use that advantage to keep Okami off of him and keep his back off of the cage. He can certainly handle himself on the
Yushin Okami-Striker/Grappler 13-5 in the UFC. Okami a longtime UFC vet and Japanese MMA great not having fought for the UFC since his 1st round KO/TKO loss to Jacarre in 2013. The 36-year-old has won his past four fights outside of the UFC, all of which have taken place in the welterweight division. Okami taking this fight on short notice could get him a new four fight contract. He will have a tough challenge with OSP when he gets into the cage on Friday.
